Our Role
We exist as a force for support in achieving core objectives in Fiji’s National Development Plan by investing in Fiji’s youth, through partnerships and strategic investment.
Over more than 15 years, Think Pacific has partnered with Fijian government ministries, provincial councils, communities, NGOs and schools to support holistic development across Fiji’s rural and remote areas. Guided by the Fiji National Development Plan and the Ministry of Health’s 7 development pillars, we have worked with 191 villages, 178 ECE centres, 174 primary schools and 48 registered youth groups, delivering infrastructure, education, youth development, sports, cultural programmes and climate-aligned initiatives.
The Think Pacific Foundation achieves our mission through a multifaceted approach centred on investing in young people through community-led development and sustainable partnerships. Primarily internally funded by our sister-enterprise and supported by a range of stakeholders, the foundation facilitates capacity-building initiatives targeting education, health, and environmental conservation. Projects are co-designed and are implemented to address specific community needs, ensuring cultural sensitivity and relevance.
Our aim is to invest in training programmes, equipping local educators, young people and communities with enhanced skills and resources to continue progress independently.
Our Priorities
Under our mission to support youth development in Fiji, the following topics are priority areas highlighted in the latest revision of Fiji’s National Development Plan. These can and should be tackled through investment into Fiji’s young people, offering sustainable and local solutions to pressing challenges.
-
Increase pathways for rural and urban youth to access education, vocational training, entrepreneurship programs and mobility initiatives, locally, regionally and internationally.
-
Equip youth with technical, leadership and climate-resilient skills to participate and contribute meaningfully in Fiji’s modern economy and society.
-
Strengthen youth voice, leadership and civic participation, empowering young people to be custodians and champions of their cultural heritage while shaping the nation’s future.
-
Support programs that enable youth to travel and exchange, both within Fiji’s islands and beyond, sharing and celebrating Fijian culture as part of global engagement.
-
Support youth-led solutions and enterprises that address Fiji’s development challenges, especially in sustainability and community well-being.
Mission
To advance the goals of the Fiji National Development Plan by empowering youth, contributing to a stronger, more sustainable Fiji.
Vision
A Fiji where every young person has the power, knowledge and cultural grounding to shape a resilient and authentically Fijian future.
